PhD Project CAIDERA

PhD Project CAIDERA: Numerical skills and Behavioural Aspects of Malaria Control (2022-2025)

We are looking for a PhD candidate to investigate whether numerical skills affect behavioral aspects of malaria control including preventive actions and treatment seeking behavior. The main hypothesis is that basic numeric inductive reasoning and cognitive ability help to improve health related behavior (i.e., avoidance of typical infection sources). For this, the research group in which the doctoral will work has developed a special technique of measuring basic numerical abilities. Gender equality, nutrition and health environment variables will be among the crucial background factors that will be studied. The data set for the research work is already available, although it will be welcome to increase the database.
